Parenting Performativities

In August 2018, Ama presented a research paper on behalf of her colleagues at the American Sociological Association Annual Meeting. Drawing on intergenerational data from the Child Development Supplement to the Panel Study of Income Dynamics, the study demonstrated that parenting dispositions and parental beliefs about gender roles play a significant role in explaining variation in children’s academic skill development.
