Timelines

Traditional (i.e., horizontal) timelines take up a lot of space and are hard to read. Using a series of if/or functions and Webdings font in Excel, I was able to create a dynamic (vertical) timeline showing American Evaluation Association (AEA) conference themes, grouped into four topic areas, for the past two decades. This method is a creative and cost-effective way of displaying year-specific information. Data were gathered from AEA’s Conference History webpage.
